You will receive your results when the background check is completed, usually within a week. You can present the results packet to any DuPage County school district adding you to their substitute teaching roster within 90 days. They can make a copy and return the original to you. The same results can be used for multiple DuPage County school districts, as long as you are presenting them to the district within 90 days of the date of results.
If you are only going to substitute for one district, we recommend you call them to see if they accept our results, or have alternate fingerprinting plans for their substitute teachers.

The form from the district will have our information on the top, the district name/authorizing signature, and the wording “Fingerprint Authorization & Release for Single District New Hire.”

DuPage Regional Office of Education can complete fingerprint-based background checks for contractors who will be working in a DuPage County school/district. The fee is $50 per employee, and the employee/contractor is responsible for payment at the time of appointment. The district may give you the form ahead of time, or you can request one from our office.
Fingerprinting is done by appointment only; each employee must have an appointment. Please call 630-407-5800 to schedule, and we can usually schedule multiple appointments during a block of time.
Each employee will need to bring to the appointment: completed form (if none was given ahead of time, we can provide one at the time of the appointment), a photo ID, and a $50 payment. We accept cash, checks, Visa, or Mastercard. We will accept a company check or credit card and can charge for any employees present on the same transaction.
The results of the background check will go directly to the school district, usually within a week. The employee (not the company) can request a copy of their individual results from the district. If the same employee will be working in another DuPage County school district within one year of the results, the company can call our office and request that we send the results to that district. We are unable to release the results to the employee, but the employee can request a copy from the district.
